A Picture-Perfect Succulent
With thick, aloe-like leaves and bulbous white bands, the Haworthia plant is what most people think of when they think “succulent.” And, as many succulents do, the Haworthia hails from the African plains where water is often scarce. This makes it excellent for beginners!
With the right cultivation, this small, low-growing plant can form attractive rosettes of deep green leaves, providing the perfect splash of natural color to any indoor or outdoor space.
- Easy to maintain
- Can be grown inside, outside, in a pot, or in a garden
- Tolerates underwatering particularly well and doesn’t need water every day
Most often purchased as small, potted specimens, the Haworthia genus thrives in the African plains where most other plants would be rendered incapacitated. Though slow-growing, Haworthia can grow to over 20 inches tall in the right conditions!
And as you might expect, this plant appreciates sandy, well-drained soil to prevent overwatering and support proper root growth. It also thrives in both full and partial sun environments, making it a versatile piece of decor that can fill any space!
Humidity: I require attention! water me more often in the summer.
Watering Conditions: Water me every 7 days and allow the soil to dry out halfway down between waterings. Increase the frequency with increased light.
